Enchanted Tools has done a great job making a non-threatening autonomous mobile robot for cobot applications. They are targeting aging in place and hospitality services applications with an inverted pendulum ball balancing mobile robot. I think it is very wise to avoid bipedal locomotion for indoor applications. The humanoid robotics hype train hitting the world currently is going to learn the hard way that robust walking is actually quite hard. It also seems that Enchanted Tools already has a pilot program for hospital cobot applications. I think they have a better chance of selling units than any of the humanoid companies. And for everyone ready to send me an angry email about how bipedal humanoid robots are the future, I remind you that ZERO have been sold to date. There is not a single bipedal humanoid robot in use outside of research and entertainment. There is actually a long history of companies trying to bring humanoid robots to market and the market finding exactly zero use cases for the robot. The US Military spent billions on Boston Dynamics trying really hard to find an application for Atlas, but in the end they found only two uses. Shooting it and having it wear out uniforms. And don't tell me you believe a humanoid robot is working in the BMW factory. Those videos show a robot doing an absolutely idiotic task for PR purposes only. For every humanoid robot you deploy in your work force you will need to hire two 6 figure salary humans to keep it working and it will work at a glacial pace. So look in the mirror and give yourself a raspberry for me.
